We are planning our second Church Has Left the Building service day for Sunday, October 26, 2014. This is a day of service where Brentwood Hills will work on various service projects throughout our community.

  2. Fall Festival at Morning Pointe (Melissa Sansom) – 20 volunteer spots available
  3. Woodbine:  Carpenter Square House Fix Up (Rick Betts)—Hook up garbage disposal; install washer/dryer; add shelf area in pantry; clean outside shed.  5 volunteer spots available
  4. Woodbine:  Glencliff High School Yard and Picnic Tables (Hank Staggs)—Trim hedges in courtyard and bushes by clinic entrance.  Paint and stain 27 picnic tables.  11 volunteer spots available
  5. Woodbine:  Home Repairs for Single Mom (Pat Pickens).  5 volunteer spots available
  6. Woodbine Church Clean Up (Kristy Bornstein, Leslie Fisher)—Clean and organize classrooms; sort and arrange clothing closet.  14 volunteer spots available
  7. Radnor Church of Christ Handyman Work (Michael Peters, Ken Gibbs)— Learn more about our handyman services. Fix hot water issues in kitchen; connect electric meter in green space with lock box; remove water fountain and cap off.  5 volunteer spots available
  8. Bradshaw Home (Jeff Hazelip)—Light yard work and book sorting at AL and Velma Bradshaw’s home. 6 volunteer spots available
  9. Grandview Work Day (John Beyer)—Cleaning, painting, and working on deck at Grandview. 14 volunteer spots available
  10. Fall Fun Day at Napier (Jeff Hunter, Barbara Hunter, Mary Kate Fisher)—Fall Festival for Inner City children at Napier Elementary.  2 volunteer spots available
  11. Bert Wiggs Carpentry project (Terry Booker)—Build a small platform for Bert Wiggs. 5 volunteer spots available
  12. Healing Hands/MAGI boxes (Jane Zeigler) – Work at Healing Hands to organize MAGI boxes. 15 volunteer spots available – ages 10 and up
  13. Agape Painting (Clint Brumit)—Painting project at the Agape offices.  5 volunteer spots available
  14. Mastectomy Recovery Pillows (Janiece Wise, Janet Dickerson, Sarah Turbeville)—Make pillows in advance and deliver to Sara Cannon Cancer Center on Oct. 26.  6 volunteer spots available
  15. Morning Star Home Clean Up and Painting (Linda Johnston, John Pugh)—Scraping and painting the exterior of a house.  10 volunteer spots available
  16. Morning Star Yard Work (Linda Johnston, John Pugh)—Trimming, weeding, and yard clean up.  10 volunteer spots available
  17. Dental Clinic (Mark Whitefield)—Free dental clinic at Donelson Church of Christ.  Dentists and hygienist volunteers needed.
  18. YES Yard Work (Barclay Fisher)—Trim hedges and trees; put new mulch around bushes, clean fence, pressure wash outdoor siding, put mulch on playground.  10 volunteer spots available
  19. YES Wood/Deck Work (Zach Crawford, Josh Terry, Chris Nelms)—Stain outdoor picnic tables; replace wood slats on deck at office and stain.  10 volunteer spots available
  20. Woodbine:  Yard Work at Homes of Single Moms (Dick Thompson)—Cut, trim, and clean up yards.  5 volunteer spots available
  21. Woodbine Neighborhood Clean Up (Jarrod Watson)—Gather neighborhood trash from streets with trailers and put in dumpsters at Radnor.  Clean out 3106 Harlin warehouse.  10 volunteer spots available
  22. Camp Sycamore Creek Clean Up (Gary and Ryan Semanchik) 5 volunteer spots available
  23. Cole Elementary Playground Prep (Jen Boyette)—Clean up Cole Elementary playground area in preparation for a new playground.  6 volunteer spots available
  24. Writing Notes for the Bridge (Elizabeth Deepa)—Write short notes of encouragement to be given to guests at the Bridge Christmas dinner.  Project here at BHCC.  5 volunteer spots available
  25. Dailey Home (Brad Ellis)—clean up and small repairs at Clarence Dailey’s home.  Also build a small ramp.  1 volunteer spot available
  26. Woodbine:  Snack and Dinner Preparation (Liz Seamon and Emily Clevenger).  Prepare and package snacks for YES students and make chili for Woodbine Trunk or Treat.  Project at BHCC kitchen. – FULL (BHCC 11th graders)
  27. Bags for the Bridge (Amy Bowman)—Fill bags with toiletry items to be given to homeless Nashvillians who come to The Bridge.  Project here at BHCC.  FULL
  28. Bags for Honduras (Katie Culberson)—Fill bags with toiletry items for our group to take to Honduras to give to those in need.  Project here at BHCC.  FULL
  29. YES Soccer Goals and Van Washing (Todd Cyphers)—Replace soccer nets and paint goals.  Clean out and wash 3 vans.  FULL
  30. Love Bear Delivery (Charlotte Hillis)—Deliver Love Bears to local hospitals and fire stations.  FULL
  31. YES Inside Clean Up (Daniel Meek)—Clean up teen room, learning labs, restroom, and kitchen.  Create a welcome board by front door.  FULL
  32. Room in the Inn Clothing Closet (Kathy Paterna)—Organize clothing closet for Room in the Inn.  FULL
