The STAND ministry supports foster families in the areas with supplies, food, prayer and encouragement.  We are partnering with Agape to become aware of these needs and the best way to serve these families.

We have a few requests from Agape currently posted on CarePortal. For those of you who aren’t yet familiar, CarePortal is the website we are using with Agape to streamline and organize needs and volunteers. Agape will post the needs of their children and families on the website (all of which have been vetted by their caseworkers), and then we have an opportunity (along with three other churches in town) to volunteer to meet part or all of a need.

For those of you interested in viewing/assisting with these and future needs, please sign up for an account on CarePortal through this link.

Once you are signed in, we can send you access to each need and let you respond directly if it is something you would like to help with. This will allow you to get more information from the caseworker.

Agape is happy with partial offers as well as full sponsorship. For example, if there is a request for $500, you can commit to giving all $500 or $50; if they need groceries for 4 weeks, you can volunteer for all 4 weeks or 1 week; if they need 2 twin beds and a crib, you can offer bed rails for 1 twin bed. The community can come together this way and put their pieces together to serve as a whole.

If you would like more information, CLICK HERE to view the informational session we had on 12/5. Agape did a great job explaining how to help care for foster families and gave an overview of the CarePortal site and how we can use it.

Here is the powerpoint presentation that went along with the CarePortal training session.

Also, check out the documents below for examples of ways to serve the families you connect with and what it means to wrap around them.

If you have any questions, please ask! We are certainly all figuring this out as we go. Thank you for serving these families!
