David K. Hughes is currently the founder of ElCid Solutions, a technology consulting firm. Hughes has had a diverse career that has afforded him unique experiences with meaningful impact.
Hughes began his career as an Infantry Officer in the US Army and was later selected and trained as a Special Forces Officer. While serving as a Detachment Commander in Special Forces, Hughes was deployed on three combat rotations to both Iraq and Afghanistan. He was tasked by his battalion commander to train and equip his team as a high altitude mountaineering team to meet theater requirements. His primary role as a Detachment Commander involved advising a provincial governor, leading combat missions, and advising foreign armies.
Upon being medically retired, due to injuries sustained in combat, Hughes was asked to launch a new veteran program at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. While serving as an Assistant Dean in Campus Life, he was able to grow the program to over 100 veterans in a 2 year time frame.
Hughes holds a B.A. in Political Science from The Citadel and a B.S. in Surveying and Mapping from East Tennessee State University.
He has been married to Pamela Hughes for 20 years and is the proud father of their 8 year old son, Brodie.
