Jonathan’s Journey Sunday July 18, 2010 We had a wonderful worship service this morning at the Kennedy Church. Robbie Forrester and J. Baugh led a couple of “English” songs along with the “Spanish” songs from the Kennedy praise leaders. Cesar led the Sunday school class with Roberto translating…and then a Baxter professor delivered the sermon. The services---especially the song service was very energized and emotional. Several us were brought to tears during the service. Ronald brought all of the boys from Jovenes…and after church we presented each of them with a BHCC back pack bag---with a t-shirt, socks and new tennis shoes. Lunch was served at a local mall food court…and then after a quick change of clothes…we headed out through the rain for a trip to the Valley of the Angles…for a couple of hours of walking through the vendors and shops---and there we ran into some from the Hillsboro group and a TORCH group---Sunday is a good day for rest and shopping in Honduras. Tonight…many of the group met with the young people from the Kennedy church for a little indoor---USA-Honduras soccer! Everyone had a blast! It is always a lot of fun when the two groups get together to play soccer! Tomorrow is our last full day…we will do our final distribution of clothes and food---we will also wrap up construction on one of the houses…and check on the progress that the other family is making. We will close our trip on the mountain…with a nice meal and devotional. From the Email bag…. Ola! Happy Birthday to Bethany and Dick! How I wish we were with you--next year, for sure! It's great reading the journey report--can picture all that you are doing--sounds like much good is being done--Tell Ronald, Daysi, and the girls hello--hope the one with the heart condition is doing well--What a blessing to worship with the Kennedy church and all the boys be there--Mark did a great job this morning!
